Battery Testing

Quanta Laboratories tests lithium batteries to the UN 38.3 transport specification and to IEC 62133. UN 38.3 covers altitude simulation, thermal, vibration, shock, external short circuit and overcharge. A battery must pass UN 38.3 before it can be shipped.

Purpose

Ensure a battery is safe during shipping and during normal use. To be transported, a battery must pass the UN 38.3 specification.
